Aporocactus 'Melanie' also known as Fox Tail Cactus is a perennial cacti with long trailing steams that have short spines. The plant is native to Central America and its stems can grow up to 5ft.

This is a extremely easy plant to propagate. Simply let the cuttings dry out for a week and then put these in a very gritty free draining good quality cacti soil. Care with watering is needed for the first few weeks to avoid rotting. 

Simply spray these cuttings with water, making sure not to over saturated the soil. When you notice roots coming from the bottom of the pot and new growth is noticed from the top, normal watering can be resumed.

With mature plants it is important to let the soil completely dry out between watering's.
