The Whitehead Dental Gag is originally a medical tool, this gag has ratchets at both sides to enable the mouth to be secured in the open position to let you put anything in there that you want...!
It is made from lightly polished 304 grade stainless steel* and this version has Black PVC coating on the bars that go into the mouth to protect the teeth.
It comes with a soft Black leather straps to hold it in place and stop the wearer spitting it out.

The internal width from side to side is approximately 5" (12.7cm) and it fits up to 25" (55cm) around the head, but if you need longer straps, please ask and we'll be happy to extend them for you.
The maximum gap between the bars is about 2" (5cm)
The maximum gap between the teeth (outside of the bars) is around 2 5/8" (6.7cm)

* 304 Grade Stainless Steel is also known as A2 or 18/8 stainless steel and, rather than simply being chrome plated, contains 18 - 20% chromium and 8 - 10.5% nickel.
This differs slightly from 316 Grade Stainless Steel which has 16 - 18% chromium and 10 - 14% nickel as well as 2 - 3% molybdenum and which is intended for medical implants and body piercing jewelry.
