Nice light. Never installed. It did not come boxed because this was a store display. However, it did not fit the area I wanted to hang it. You can hang either facing up or down your choice. You can use a regular or LED bulb. This is a wall mounted light. You can use it inside or outside as long as it is well covered  from blowing rain or snow. The back measures 5-1/2" and it is 9-1/2" tall. The glob is a frosted glass light cream color. This fixture is made of metal and glass no plastic.
