This year marks 50 years since the introduction of decimal currency into Australia on 14 February 1966.
The new currency affected all Australians –everyday citizens, banking staff, educators, government organisations, businesses and more. Illustrating changes in our currency, the new commemorative stamp shows the pre-decimal £1 note, the decimal $1 note introduced in 1966 and the $1 coin that replaced the note in 1984.
