Amber 1 Gallon Clorox Glass Bottle, Circa 1955-59
This is an amber brown glass 1 gallon size Clorox bottle that was produced in the 1955-59 time period. The surface of the bottle below the shoulder has a grained texture. The name ‘Clorox’ in outline letters is on the shoulder of the bottle and the shoulders are rounded. The bottom has the registered Clorox Diamond logo and the numbers 1, 10, 6 and 6 evenly spaced around the sides of the diamond. There are no chips or cracks that we can see or feel, however there is some hazing on the inside (the bottle has not been cleaned) and a couple of pennies have corroded themselves to the inside of the bottle, plus there is a third floating around loose. The top of the bottle is threaded, but no cap is included. This large bottle is relatively heavy and weighs about 2 lbs 14 oz. and is approximately 6.5” diameter by 11.11” tall.
