Los Alamos Replica Security Badges – K-6 and 47 with Red Edge

A set of two large 2.25" pinback buttons: one with the code K-6, and one with a red border and the number 47.

When on base in Los Alamos, the New Mexico town selected for the Manhattan Project, personnel wore round badges with combinations of letters and numbers. These refer to the identification numbers they were assigned upon arriving at Los Alamos. The eyewitnesses to the actual Trinity nuclear test wore buttons with red edges and a number, rather than a letter-number combination.

This button set is a reproduction of a cinematic interpretation of those security badges, worn by scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer.
