No bar & chain . This saw that is a favorite of tree trimmers and arborists as a powerful saw that is lightweight. Great firewood saw !!  (  I always start and video my saws before shipping so there is no issues with the parts stealing and trying to return saws cons out there ) Saw has the normal scuffs and scrapes that all saws get with use .
