'Flair Legionaire' - After-market laser-cut ribs

Note: This set is not a complete kit. A plan is not included, and additional materials are required to complete the model.

This is an after-market rib set to suit the Flair Legionaire - they are not OEM parts. The Legionaire was part of Flair’s scout series version of the famous Nieuport 17. Not a biplane, not a monoplane but a sesquiplane with the bottom wing being half the area of the top wing

Ribs are cut with small 'vent' holes to alleviate the 'ballooning' issue when film covering and ribs also cut with ‘pop-out’ servo wire holes to allow separate wing servos. Unlike the originals, ribs are cut to suit their locations for ailerons, there is no trimming required !

History: The Nieuport 17 was not a biplane, not a monoplane but a sesquiplane with the bottom wing being half the area of the top wing. The Nieuport 17 was one of the classic fighters of First World War. It reached the French front in March 1916, and was adopted by the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service because of its superiority to any British-designed aircraft then in service.
