Very large square, black, silk damask antique shawl has a grapevine design woven into the fabric as a border and a deep fringe all around. This would most likely have been worn as mourning. No tags - American, mid to late 19th century.

Condition

Good. The fabric is sound. There are a few 1-2 mm holes and some small areas of thinning of the fabric.
