Rob Zombie and Waxwork Records have partnered to release an exclusive, curated line of classic Horror movie soundtracks. “Rob Zombie Presents” features several never-before-released film soundtracks that were personally selected by the singer, songwriter, and filmmaker.
“I have always been a huge fan of movie soundtracks. So I jumped at the opportunity to work with Waxwork on this project.” Says Zombie, “I can’t wait to release these albums. Rob Zombie and Waxwork Records are thrilled to announce “Rob Zombie Presents CARNIVAL OF SOULS Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Gene Moore”. Starring Candace Hilligoss, CARNIVAL OF SOULS is a 1962 American psychological Horror film directed by Herk Harvey. The plot follows a young woman whose life is disturbed after becoming the sole survivor of a car accident. Trying to put the incident behind her, she moves to Utah to take up a job as a church organist. Unable to assimilate with the locals, her life is soon interrupted by visions of a ghoulish stranger. As her visions become more frequent, she finds herself strangely drawn to an abandoned carnival on the outskirts of town. The alluring, deserted carnival may hold the secret to her tragic past.
CARNIVAL OF SOULS features an organ score by Gene Moore. Employing various guerrilla filmmaking techniques and shot on a shoestring budget of only $33,000, CARNIVAL OF SOULS has become a cult classic and has been praised by critics and film scholars for its cinematography and its stark, foreboding atmosphere.
Waxwork worked closely with the owners of the original CARNIVAL OF SOULS film elements which have been restored by and archived in the vaults of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. AMPAS restored the soundtrack from the film’s original soundtrack negative, allowing the holders of this historical film to provide Waxwork with the best possible source material. This special release marks the first, official CARNIVAL OF SOULS soundtrack album.
In addition to the original soundtrack, this release features segments of dialogue and sound effects eloquently and tastefully included, all sourced from the restored original soundtrack negative.
After working together on the successful release of the official soundtracks to Zombie’s films House of 1000 Corpses, The Devils Rejects, 3 From Hell, The Lords of Salem, Halloween 1 & 2, and The Munsters, Zombie explored other ways to collaborate with Waxwork in an effort to unearth, re-master, and release classic, left-of-center Horror soundtracks from films that he is a lifelong fan of. The line of soundtracks features deluxe packaging, heavyweight colored vinyl, new artwork by prominent Horror illustrator Graham Humphreys, liner notes and interviews conducted by Rob Zombie with filmmakers and actors. Titles include premiere releases of White Zombie, Spider Baby, Carnival Of Souls, The Last Man On Earth, The House On Haunted Hill, Island Of Lost Souls, and many selections from the HAMMER film library.

Waxwork
Founded by Kevin Bergeron (aka Kevin Dredge). Waxwork Records is a New Orleans based record label specializing in the release of classic cinema, horror, cult, and sci-fi film scores in the highest quality LP packages available. Waxwork revisits the original source master tapes for every release. Often times, these original masters are thought to have been lost, even destroyed, for decades. The master tapes are tracked down by the label, re-mixed, and re-mastered by former White Zombie guitarist Jay Yuenger. All Waxwork titles are pressed to 180 gram audiophile grade vinyl and housed in heavy old style casebound tip-on jackets. Each release features newly commissioned full package artwork and design including liner notes from the film directors and composers.

A PLUS or MINUS suffix denotes a very slight improvement or degradation to the attributed grading but not enough to raise or lower the item to the grading category above or below it.Record age is immaterial to its condition.
