by Edgar Hodges, 1969
The text above the picture reads:-
This shiny red compound engine is one of many of its type once owned by the London Midland Region of Britain's railway system. This particular engine is the No. 1000 steaming its way through the Lancashire countryside. One of these engines - the No. 1054 - made an epic non-stop run from Euston to Edinburgh in 1928, covering a distance of 399½ miles, while pulling a six coach load of 190 tons, dead on time. No small achievement for an engine of this size! This lovely picture is from the remains of a childrens book. Framed in an A4 size (11.7 x 8.3 inch, 297 x 210 mm) frame. The picture offered does NOT have the "SAMPLE" watermark!!
