[CK108] Cook Islands 5 dollars Act of Canonical Communion colored proof silver coin 2008
Description:
The rectangular collectible 5-dollar coin of the Cook Islands is dedicated to the reunion of the Russian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate and the one abroad, which are two branches of one denomination. The Act of Canonical Communion was signed in 2007; the fact is commemorated by the represented coin minted in 2008. The subject of the piece is explained in the upper part of the coin’s reverse in Russian language. The rest of the surface shows the colored figures of two heads of two corresponding branches of Russian Orthodox Churches depicted in a moment of signing the Act. They are placed against the relief background with churches and cathedrals on it. The other side of the silver bar shows the image of the British Queen and the legends explaining the name of the country and the face value of the piece.
