If you weren’t around it, it’s hard to describe exactly what was happening in Charlotte during those early years of the Hornets—all the years of 23,000 seat sellouts for every home game, a sort of raw electricity you’d never felt in an NBA arena before. I love the charm of the first few years, when “Kelly TRI-PUCKA!!!” drilling threes might as well have been Mick Jagger in the city of Charlotte.
But the peak (and we didn’t know it would never get any higher) was the 90’s. We still loved 5’3” Muggsy weaving in and out of traffic and Dell Curry being a filthy gunslinger, but with the advent of LJ, Zoe, Kendall Gill…we just knew we had the world by the tail. We were building a dynasty that would live forever.
Well like the summer of 69…spoiler alert, those days did NOT last forever! But they were good days, and you can relive them with this lovingly curated 90’s Hornets bundle—with a fun cross section of cards of the players we loved, and a 94-95 media guide! For the deep cut Hornets fans…I know you’re still out there :)
