These are 3/4 size Master Parachutist Jump Wings of the United States Army These wings are in mint condition and are shirt size or 1 1/4 inches wide. The brass clutches will be included. See photos.
To be awarded US Basic Jump wings, one must have completed Airborne School and made a minimum of 5 parachute jumps from an aircraft while in flight.
To be awarded Master Parachutist wings, one must have been on jump status in an Airborne unit a minimum of three years and be jumpmaster qualified. A minimum of 65 parachute jumps from an aircraft while in flight plus having met other requirements.
These wings are similar those illustrated in the Bragg and Turner book, PARACHUTE Badges and Insignia of the World as B&T 42. These are getting scarce now days, so if you are trying to collect the various makers of US Wings, this is your opportunity to pick up an uncommon hallmark. .
