Beautiful early 1900s / antique souvenir china plate from Lexington, Massachusetts - measures 8 1/4 inches round; black lettering below the monument read LEXINGTON, MASS. - color view shows a house and trees in background and in foreground a tombstone like monument with a musket and a powder horn with six lines of lettering: THE LINE OF THE MINUTE MEN / APRIL 19 1775 / STAND YOUR GROUND / DON'T FIRE UNLESS FIRED UPON / BUT IF THEY MEAN TO HAVE A WAR / LET BEGIN HERE / CAPTAIN PARKER; a really beautiful plate with light to dark green luster and pink roses on the rim; there is a thin gold band around color view; base mark shows a "Wheelock" logo with "Made in Austria / for / A.M. Tucker / Lexington, Mass. / Vienna"; excellent condition - no chips, cracks, etc.
