A Must Have Tool:

Carbon buildup in the cylinder head can cause fuel injector assemblies to stick in place. The fuel injector puller tool is used to assist in removal of the injectors from the cylinder head without causing damage to the injector body. Our Injector Puller for 2001-2004 GM Duramax 6.6L engines safely pulls the injectors without pulling the injector cups.


For a simple repair or the most complex drivability concern, our 6778 Injector Puller solve problems faster, and at better value.

 

Detail Installation:

Step 1: Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

Step 2: To assist with disassemble the fuel injector pipes, apply lithium grease between the fuel injection pipe and the accessories.

Step 3: Disconnect and reposition the fuel return pipes.

Step 4: Remove the fuel injector bracket bolts.

Step 5: Install the 6778 injector puller into the bolt hole of the fuel injector bracket.

Step 6: Install a wrench onto the 6778 injector puller. Turn the wrench away from the injector until the injector loosens from its base.

Step 7: Remove the 6778 injector puller and install on another injector. Repeat steps 5-7.

Step 8: Reinstall the fuel injector bracket bolts and return pipes. Reconnect each injector electrical connectors. (To prevent possible severe damage to the engine, please make sure the injector electrical connectors are connected correctly.)
