Description:  A shower of stones fell approx. five miles East of Wiluna township, after a fireball and a sonic boom were observed.

There were estimated about 500 - 1000 stones distributed over an NW to SE elongated ellipse of 4 x 2 miles, weighing from 10 kg - 2.2 g.

Chemical Bulk Analysis of the WILUNA:

SiO2=39.59%, TiO2=0.10%, Al2O3=2.65%, Cr2O3=0.63%, FeO=9.5%, MnO=0.27%, MgO=24.06%, CaO=1.88%, Na2)=0.95%, K2O=0.10%, P2O5=0.16%, H2O+=0.08%, Fe m=14.73%, Ni=1.58%, Co=0.081%, FeS=3.39%.

Radiometric dating of the meteorite itself estimates an age of about 4.5 billion years, suggesting it was formed at the very beginning of the Solar System, and which makes it among the oldest material known to exist (the oldest rocks on Earth being only half its age).
