This beautiful lacquerware PEACOCK, in lustrous black with rich gilt decoration is a vintage piece purchased in Burma (now Myanmar) in 1976. Hand-crafted with very fine hand-painted design.

Large, measuring 12" top of tail to beak, Tail itself is 6"H x 5" at widest and tapers down

Neck to top of head is 4", Bottom of box, oval shape, is 8"L x 4 1/2" at Widest

Part of my own collection, it has sat in a display cabinet and is in excellent condition.
