THE ALBUM OF HABANERAS collected by Xavier Montsalvatge commented by Nèstor Luján and illustrated by José María Prim is one of the most important studies on Catalan popular song. Xavier Montsalvatge, Josep M. Prim and Nèstor Luján met at Josep Pla's house, along with three singing fishermen from Calella de Palafrugell, to try to perpetuate the Habaneras that in those years it was believed would end up disappearing. This has not been the case, but on the contrary, since each year they become more widespread and popular.
