Item #3120  -  This beautiful cut and polished natural agate cylinder was mined and crafted in Brazil.

   Agate is a variety of quartz.  Quartz is one of the most common substances found in the earth's crust, yet it can form in so many beautiful ways.  Agate is a special form of quartz called chalcedony, which forms in veins and geodes in unique colors, and often in layers called banding.  Agates are found all over the world, but Brazil is the main source of most of the agate geodes and slices that you see.

This particular cylinder has great  contrast, between the white crystal quartz and tan/white agate  The cylinder has a perfect polish and no damage.  The photos tell all.  The would be a nice specimen for a shelf in your bookcase.

The cylinder measures a little over 2 3/4  inches tall and is 1 3/8 inches in diameter.  It weighs 5.6 ounces (159g).
