First Book of Anatomy, Physiology And Hygiene for Grammar Schools and Families, Calvin Cutter M.D., Clark, Austin and Smith, New York 1858

An original copy of this early anatomy book that covers all the parts of the body EXCEPT the reproductive system!
Guess that was a bit too hot to handle in grammar schools.

Great illustrations unattributed. Good condition with typical light foxing and staining. binding is tight with brown cloth covered boards and wear to spine with bumping at top and bottom. Gilt title on spine legible. 7" x 5"  192 pages with index and on the last page is an ad for an upcoming book "Human and Comparative of Anatomy Physiology and Hygiene" by Mrs. Cutter.

I was unable to find other copies of this online though there are modern reprints.
