40 Degrees is a laser-cut wooden packing puzzle designed by Jürgen Reiche and produced by Siebenstein Spiele. It uses familiar pentomino-style pieces, but gives them a distinctive twist: the pieces are cut at a 40-degree angle.
The objective is to use the 20 pentominoes to create the various shapes shown in the included printout. Because of the angled treatment, even similar or duplicated pentominoes behave slightly differently, making piece orientation and placement especially important.
The tray shape resembles three fused rhombi, and the puzzle becomes even more challenging when building shapes outside the tray outline. The result is a clever variation on a classic packing concept with plenty of replay value.
40 Degrees is a strong choice for solvers who enjoy pentominoes, tangram-style challenges, and packing puzzles with a geometric twist. The angled pieces make familiar shapes feel new, while the included challenge sheet gives the puzzle plenty to explore.
