Duraflex side skirts are aftermarket accessories specifically designed for off-road and show use. Made from fiberglass, these side skirts are not “direct bolt-on” parts and may require additional preparation before installation. This preparation could involve sanding, shaving, filling gaps, or other custom bodywork. Modifications to vehicle components might also be necessary to ensure a proper fit.
If the side skirts extend onto the rear quarter panel or front fender, more extensive work, including custom fitting, may be required. In some cases, the side skirts may need to be attached with screws or other fasteners, which are not included and must be sourced separately to ensure secure installation. Achieving proper alignment is crucial for a seamless fit and to maintain long-term durability, especially in high-stress areas.
Duraflex side skirts often work best when paired with front and rear bumpers of the same style, as most aftermarket designs sit lower to the ground than OEM components. Mixing aftermarket side skirts with OEM bumpers may result in a noticeable height difference that can disrupt the vehicle's visual flow.
While side skirts can enhance your vehicle's aerodynamics and aesthetics, Duraflex strongly recommends professional installation by a custom shop experienced in handling fiberglass components to ensure proper fitment and safety.
Please note that Duraflex side skirts are intended strictly for off-road and show applications. Due to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, many of these products are not street legal. Duraflex does not endorse or recommend using these side skirts on public roads or highways
