Fletcher Henderson - Tidal Wave

An icon of American music, namely Jazz. For all practical purposes, the creator of the "Goodman sound", as he became an arranger for the band for a long time. For sure, it was a time of change in music, as Dixieland and Traditional jazz were starting to give way to the late 1930s and the beginnings of Be bop. Nevertheless, very important music was composed, arranged and played in those year when transition was in the air. Too bad it is so difficult to find music by Henderson or by some of his musicians. But this Cd is quite all right, especially for Goodman fans. Five Stars
