In 55 BC, Julius Caesar first landed in Kent, and following two centuries of shrewd diplomacy and brutal war, the Romans had established themselves in what is now England and Wales. This detailed map shows the Roman province of 'Britannia' between 150 and 300 AD - the height of the Roman expansion. The map shows the Coloniae, major towns and forts, the primary roads, and also includes an inset map of Hadrian’s Wall, and the vexilla (banners) of the three main Roman Legions stationed in Provincia Britannia.
For anyone fascinated by Roman history or archaeology, this is a must-have.
This map is the same size and layout as my Anglo Saxon Map. Find it in my other listings. They make a great pair for anyone interested in early British history.
