***Update!!!***  The unit for John has been identified!!  4th Battalion of the 31st Infantry Regiment.  Working under the 196th Infantry Brigade in Vietnam in 1967!

I have not been able to identify the unit for these photos, but from the lot of photos I have they are of a John L. Sims, rank of corporal when at Ft. Benning, Georgia in 1966.  In the lot of photos there is a Vietnam era sign from the "3rd Platoon, Company C" with the motto on it "May we, God helping us, be part of the answer, not part of the problem".  On this sign below this quote there is what looks like a bear, possibly polar? bear, sitting on some kind of chair.  Also on this sign are the infantry company c, 3rd platoon crossed rifles insignia, and the combat badge on the right.  In one other photo it shows John wearing a helmet with a tiger or spotted leopard of some kind very large on the front, which may be part of the company's DUI.

Please note:  Two of the photos described above are NOT in this lot, but you may find them on my other listings.

In this listing there are eight photos from the lot described below:

3 photos on a plane, one with John and buddy probably heading to Massachusetts before deployment.  Celebrating I presume with some drinks.

One with John that appears to be at Ft. Benning (pine trees)

One with John next to a sign, likely in Vietnam, of the 3rd platoon, Company C, 4th Bn of the 31st Infantry Regiment. Has the polar bear DUI on the sign.

One with several soldiers from the 196th Infantry Brigade.  This is the photo that identified the regiment he was with, as there was a SSI just barely discernable in this photo showing the "Burning Worm" subdued logo of the 196th IB, under which the 4 Battalion of the 31st operated in Vietnam.

Two office photos, could be either in Georgia, Massachusetts or Vietnam.

Each measures approximately 4 1/4” x 3 1/2”
