ART NOUVEAU EMBOSSED MAJOLICA TILE. PILKINGTON'S .C1908.

Size 6" x 6" or 152mm x 152mm.

This was one of the last Art Nouveau designs from Pilkingtons who by now were an established tile manufacturer and had some very good designer's working with them.

This design was made in many colourways and this one has stunning turquoise flowers against the green background.

They were used mainly for fireplaces & washstands.

These were rescued from a victorian fireplace taken out of a local house here in the Conwy, North Wales.

Condition is very good with just a tiny amount of ware around the bottom corners.

It's finished with a nice translucent glaze.

It has some dark staining on the back from when used in a fireplace.

It has the two Ps in opposing corners and in the centre is the Registration no 532545 for 1908.
