First state with “Jefferson” for “Mottstown” on page 340 line 1, orange top stain, and the correct binding which is stamped on the spine in blue and the front cover in orange.

The book has scattered stains, soiling, rubbing, a short split, and general shelf wear. The boards are reasonably straight, the binding is firm but is cracked, and internally there is some of the unavoidable tanning but it is free of writing, stamps, etc. One of 8500 copies in the first printing. A cornerstone work of Southern Gothic literature and one of Faulkner’s finest.
