I wasn't sure what category to list this in, but it's a deck piece, like a paper weight, made by a machinist likely in training to highlight their skills. It's a little baby crankshaft!

Appears well done, a little light surface rust but I bet it would clean up fine.

probably vintage 1950s based on where I found it.
