ANTIQUE GERMAN PULL ALONG DOG - D.R.G.M.

A very rare antique German pull along ‘tinplate’ toy - a 'white' fabric dog, with glass eyes, in a metal harness pulling two large tinplate wheels with a bell between them, which tinkles when the toy is rolling along. The dog also rests on a smaller wheel to enable it to roll along. It is missing a cord to pull it along, but a new one could easily be attached as there is a small loop to the front of his harness. It is stamped ‘D.R.G.M’ on the inside of the wheel which stands for Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchs Muster - a type of copyright mark.

Condition: The fabric on the dog is pilled and no longer very white! He has had some repairs to his front feet - some fabric has been glued on. His front right leg wobbles a bit. Rust patches here and there to the metal.
