LSI 9300-8e SAS-3 12Gbps 8-lane external SAS HBA P16 IT Mode ZFS TrueNAS unRAID NoROM

Listed for sale is LSI 9300-8E 8-lane external SAS host bus adapter card that I flashed to IT mode firmware for use with ZFS. It has been flashed to Avago / LSI 9300-8e IT (Initiator Target) firmware version P16 (specifically 16.00.12.00). This card has NO BIOS ROM, and NO UEFI to speed up boot time during POST. However, this also means you CANNOT BOOT from this card and you will not see any initialization during POST. The card will only be visible after the OS driver has loaded and initialized the card.

  4. Full profile PCI bracket only

These are based on the LSI SAS3008 SAS controller chipset and supports PCI-E 3.0 specifications with x8 lanes and 12Gbps SAS-3 technology (backwards compatible with SAS-2/SATA-3 6Gbps). The controller has 2x SFF-8644 external connectors, each carrying 4 SAS lanes. You will need a compatible cable to connect these to your JBOD chassis.
