This is a lovely Mexican-created Yei rug...a design that originates from the Navajo. This is not a Navajo rug, however, it does look like one. One can tell due to the cotton double warped sides, weight of wool, and less elaborate design than Navajo textiles. 

Certainly, a great deal of time was put into this lovely art textile. It is a creamy and soft colors. Lightly worn, not new, some light wool fluffing but a beautiful art textile.
