This listing is for a Original Victorian Parlor Hanging Oil Lamp w Crystal Prisms & Retractable Pulley system.  When all together, This measures approx 36 inches tall to the top of the Pulley System, approx 14 inches wide (at the widest point which is the round shade). Dusty and shows patina to the Decorative metal framing but no damage or ware. This is not marked signed or dated as far as I can tell. This is a very rare piece, showing very little ware. No chips, cracks or other damage. The plain White Lamp shade measures 14 inches across, stands 6 5/8 inches tall and fits perfectly inside the Rim of the framing of this piece. I am not sure if this is original to the framing as there is a Crown shaped Decorative piece that sits on the neck that only sits there and is much larger then the opening. The Tall Slender Hurricane shade that fits on the oil lamp measures 12 inches tall. The oil lamp glass Base that holds oil has a turn key style piece that turns to make the wick go up or down. 

This does retract and can measure as long as 6 foot 9 inches long which is mostly for pulling down to fill and then put back up.  It does not stay retracted for this to hang longer as a regular state of being.  There is no braking system that would allow that. Not sure if that can be changed or not to add something to keep it retracted.

I try very hard to package as carefully as possible all of the items I sell. However, sometimes, no matter how well an item is packaged, it ends up lost or damaged. Insurance will cover these problems. If an item is lost or damaged, please contact me and I will do all I can to fix the problem and either get you your item or get insurance to refund your money.
