A pack of twelve pewter buttons brand new and unused. The 16mm buttons are domed in shape and have a distinctive pattern and a loop shank. The buttons are made from English Pewter and are lead free with a polished finish.

Suitable for 17th century clothing and costume.

These buttons are exact copies of an original button used to make the mould which these buttons are cast from. The original button was found by metal detectors and is dated to the mid 17th century UK.

As well as sewing on the buttons they often were attached to the garment by pushing the shank of the button through a hole in the cloth and threading a lace or string throughout the loop shanks on the inside of the garment securing them at both ends.

These buttons are suitable for doublets and breeches and other historic clothing or living history displays, theatre and film costumes and LARP clothing. Suitable for use with re-enactment uniforms.

The buttons are made in England from lead free pewter and shipped from England.
