The Sundown Audio SA Classic 6.5 Inch D2 subwoofer is built for enthusiasts who need serious bass in places where larger woofers simply will not fit. This compact 6.5 inch sub packs a 300-watt RMS and 600-watt peak rating into a shallow frame with about 3.75 inch mounting depth, making it perfect for under-seat, behind-seat, and tight custom enclosures.

To reduce depth even further, Sundown uses a solid pole design that allows the back plate to rest close to the back wall of the box. This design makes the most of limited enclosure space without giving up the excursion and motor strength people expect from an SA series woofer. A full 10 mm of Xmax and robust mechanical limits mean the SA Classic 6.5 D2 can move real air for its size.

On the electrical side, the dual 2 Ohm voice coil configuration offers flexible wiring for 1 Ohm or 4 Ohm amplifier loads. A large aluminum Faraday ring smooths the acoustic response and helps control inductive distortion, while high-temperature voice coil wire and integrated vent channels keep the motor cool under long term use. Spring-loaded terminals make wiring clean and secure.

The SA Classic 6.5 D2 is tuned to work in very compact enclosures. A 0.30 cubic foot ported box with 4 square inches of port area and a 40 Hz tuning frequency is recommended for strong low frequency output. Sundown also provides detailed fourth-order bandpass specs for advanced builders who want to maximize performance in a small footprint, as well as sealed and hybrid options for different goals.
