Our latest design of 50mm deep, tubeless compatible, carbon wheels for racing, TT or just recreational speed! New style of construction and brake track. Handbuilt in the UK by a professional wheelbuilder rather than by a machine.

Rims are produced by Carbonal to our spec. 100% Toray carbon fibre incorporating a titanium reinforcing band. Mix of Toray T800 and T700 carbon weaves for improved stiffness and resilience, Brand new high heat resistant resin/cloth used in brake track area rather than the more common 'basalt' layer. These rims have a brake track resistant to temperatures of 255oC (our standard rims with basalt brake track are 210oC resistant and cheap carbon rims can be as low as 150oC resistance). This is the same technology as used by the top brands costing £2000+. The brake track looks pretty smart as well!

50mm deep 'U' shaped aero section 25mm wide at the brake track and 28mm wide at the mid-point in the section. The increased width gives a bigger contact area for the tyre on the road, improves the aero performance by being the same width as the most commonly used 25mm tyre size and improves ride quality.

The rims can be used with tubed tyres or tubeless with the appropriate rim tape and valves.

Suitable for road tyres from 23mm - 30mm width and CX clinchers.

20/24 spokes. Max recommended system weight 105kg.

Rim brakes only and a carbon specific brake pad must be used. We recommend the SwissStop yellow or Black Prince brake pads for the best performance. (Mavic yellow brake pads are made by SwissStop and seem to be identical). We use Black Prince.

Carbon clincher rims (of all types from £250-£2500) can suffer from brake track problems if heat is allowed to build up by long periods of gentle 'comfort' braking. Avoid this by braking harder for a shorter period of time. These rims minimise the risk but if you are uncomfortable using this technique we suggest looking at alloy wheel alternatives.

Novatec A291SB-SL front hub. Standard road bike dimensions of 100mm wide with QR fitting. 20 spoke holes. These are really light and weigh only 60g. 2 x high quality sealed bearings. Gloss black.
Novatec F482SB-SL rear hub. Standard road bike dimensions of 130mm wide with QR fitting. 24 spoke holes. The lightweight F482SB-SL weighs 228g. 4 x high quality sealed bearings. Gloss black.
The standard freehub is Shimano 11 speed compatible and comes with an alloy spacer to allow use of 8/9/10 speed Shimano or SRAM cassettes. SRAM XDR and Campagnolo 10/11 speed freehub available at no extra cost.
Miche Primato (Shimano or Campag) hubs available for heavier riders at no extra cost
Supplied with lightweight Novatec/Miche QRs

The spokes are super high quality Belgian made black Sapim CX Ray bladed spokes fastened by black Sapim alloy nipples. CX Ray spokes are among the lightest spokes available but have great strength and aero properties. Unfortunately they are also rather expensive!

Cheaper wheelsets built in the Far East generally use much cheaper and less efficient spokes.

The wheels are built using a radial pattern at the front for lowest weight and better aero performance and 2x/2x at the rear for strength and reliable power transmission.

Total wheelset weight is around 1475g.

Options:

Miche Primato hubs - recommended for heavier riders and winter use - same cost. 145g heavier.
