The train set consists of a class 1670 electric locomotive, three Schlieren cars, type Bpo and a frame baggage car, type Dih.

With the opening of the Vorarlbergbahn (Lindau - Bludenz, Lauterach - St. Margrethen and Feldkirch - Buchs) on January 1st. The railway age began in Vorarlberg in July 1872.
In order to improve the profitability of the Vorarlberg Railway, a direct connection to the monarchy's railway network was essential. The Vorarlberg Railway was therefore practically only the first realized project to connect with the other Austrian railways. This was opened with the Arlbergbahn in 1884.
