SBB Cargo International is expanding its Vectron fleet and has been purchasing rental locomotives from the leasing company MRCE (Mitsui Rail Capital Europe) since December 2021.
The newly developed design with the nickname “Shadowpiercer” is based on the original Alppiercer design and carries the basic color of the landlord MRCE.
The naming of the locomotives, which now have names and floor plans of Swiss lakes on Allen four corner sides, is also typical of the design from Railcolor. The Vectron fleet is equipped with the country packages Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Holland (DACHINL).
