Mini-Compact Capacitor Leakage Tester XDM800-10 (Re-listed)

This is another re-listing of this popular instrument with +30 units sold up to now.

This is a very handy compact-portable capacitor leakage tester for anyone working with capacitors with voltage ratings up to 800VDC. Although many meters can measure the value of capacitance and ESR, very few can test for leakage current at the rated voltage. This tester provides this missing information. Some older type vacuum-tube-based HV testers using the "magic eye" indicator is usually very insensitive, and can miss some leakage faults in more modern capacitors.  The tester allows easy testing of leakage at the actual operating voltage. Internal electronic current regulator/limit protects against capacitors going short-circuit under stress testing. Automatic discharge prevents shock from handling charged capacitors after testing is complete.

Features:
  • Three voltage test ranges (0 - 50V, 50 - 400V, 400 - 800V) The max voltage can be selected to be 400 or 800V on the back panel
  • Dual 4-digit display for voltage and current (Red voltage display 0 - 800V, Blue current display 1uA - 9.999mA/9999uA) Some units may display current in mA (9.999) and others will display in uA (9999)  
  • High Voltage warning (HV indicator will start flashing at around 100V as a warning reminder. Flash rate will increase with voltage setting)
  • Leakage current display. No range switching/damage as with analog meters (<1uA to 10mA - white LED + digital display. Over 9.999mA blue display will show "- - - -" or "10.XX" depending on meter software version. Typically the white LED illumination threshold will be with leakage currents of at least 500nA an up
  • Triple stage, electronic power + current limited for safety (Typical output current limit at 12mA, and total available output power limit at 10W)
  • Floating output (Allows in circuit testing by lifting only one end of capacitor under test)
  • TEST switch (Push-to-test switch. In the normal position it is in discharge mode. Test voltage present only on output when test button is pressed)
  • V-READ monitor switch (Monitor the applied test voltage in source position or the out-terminal  voltage in output position)
  • Max voltage selector (Max available test voltage can be selected by switch on the back panel. Choice 400V or 800V)
  • Input power (12VDC @ 1A. Power pack included)
  • Test leads (Banana to crocodile. Set of red/black test leads will be included)
  • Small bench space. Size (Approx 150mm x 100mm x 50mm)
