Antique Reed & Barton Silver Plate Syrup Pitcher Heavy Patina As Is
This old pitcher is engraved "Mf'd and Plated by Reed & Barton 1580" on bottom. It measures 5¼ inches tall, and it has an upturned rim around the bottom to catch any spillage. Lid is hinged, and works perfectly. The inside still has a fair bit of the plating, but almost all of the silver is worn off the outside. The bottom rim is a little bent, but this piece appears to have no repairs. It may have been a syrup pitcher, or maybe a creamer, but it is well made and is a neat old-old piece.
In fair antique condition. Silver plate is nearly all worn away on exterior, with some silver plate remaining on the interior as may be seen in photos. Drip plate on bottom is bent, and spout cover on lid is bent slightly upward. Hinge on lid works well and lid seats squarely, despite the bent portion over the spout.
