Friction Material Type
Raybestos Powertrain GPZ friction plates greatly increase transmission performance and durability. This state-of-the-art friction material far exceeds OE material to withstand high stress, high temperatures and repeated cycling. GPZ's outstanding performance benefits are perfect for heavy-duty vehicles and high-stress driving. Testing of GPZ revolutionary friction material shows that it outperforms OE materials by as much as 20%. Plus, its performance improves as the power increases. Savvy 10R80 transmission rebuilders have spent countless hours making machined modifications to the transmission drums to achieve increased clutch capacity through adding friction and steel clutch plates in each drum. On top of this time-consuming effort some builders have also chosen to machine down the thickness of the steel clutch plates to also aid in the fitment of additional friction clutch plates. Machining steel clutch plates will certainly help achieve the desired goal of fitting additional clutch plates into the D, E, and F clutch drums; however, this often causes harm to the friction clutch plates. Machining steel clutch plates can cause an abrasive steel surface finish that is unseen to the naked eye. This abrasive machined steel surface causes premature wear to the friction clutch plate that it sits against. Raybestos Powertrain’s aftermarket new product development team have combined all the performance benefits of GPZ friction material with cleverly redesigned D, E, and F clutch packs to provide 10R80 transmission rebuilders with a drop-in increased-capacity solution.

All Ford branded parts are genuine Ford OEM part. We purchase directly from Ford Components in bulk, which means the parts may not come in traditional dealer-branded packaging. Additionally, part numbers are removed (dremeled off) per our pricing agreement with Ford Components to ensure any returns are processed through us and not a dealership. Rest assured, the quality and fitment are identical to what you’d receive from a dealer.
Your order will be shipped within 1 business days (MON-FRI excluding holidays) of receiving payment and you should expect to receive it five to seven days via US Postal Service or UPS Ground Standard Shipping unless another shipping method is chosen. Please Note: All packages valued at over $500 WILL require a signature upon delivery.
If your package arrives damaged, please do not open it and contact us immediately. If you install damaged parts they will not be returnable.
If your package is returned by the carrier due to address errors, you will be responsible for the shipping cost.
International Customers:
Please make sure you monitor your package. Any import duty/taxes must be paid by the buyer. If you do not pay in a timely fashion your package will be returned. You will not receive a refund for the returned items until they’re delivered. Shipping fees will not be reimbursed.
CORE RETURN DIRECTIONS & GUIDELINES
- Cores must returned within 30 days of the original purchase or any claim to warranty will be null/void.
- Cores must exhibit normal wear and tear conditions.
- Cores must be drained of internal fluids.
- Cores should be wrapped in plastic when repacked for shipment. A garbage bag will suffice.
- Repack your core inside the box the replacement part was received in. It is extremely important that the core be returned inside its original box for identification purposes.
- Securely tape your package closed.
- PLEASE mark the outside of your box clearly and in large lettering with the words "CORE RETURN". This helps make sure that your package remains identified within the warehouse as a core.
- Affix the PRE-PAID return label that was provided in the original shipment.
Whatever It Takes will not be liable for shipping damage due to being improperly boxed.

If you’re having an issue with a used or remanufactured item and it’s been installed, we require the buyer to contact us immediately so we can provide trouble shooting information. Worst case scenario if that fails, exchange only.
