Rolex produced Sea‑Dweller toolkits in green leather wallets that appeared in both smooth and grained textures, but these differences were never tied to the watch’s production year, serial range, or specific reference; instead, they resulted from normal manufacturing variation, multiple subcontracted leather suppliers, and the fact that Rolex shipped toolkit components in bulk for authorised dealers to assemble themselves, which meant that whichever wallet style was on hand at the time was used, making both textures equally authentic and correct for any period.
