These photos are from a collection of a WW1 soldier who visited several areas near the front on his leave and collected these photos and postcards in the process.  They were all in a scrapbook that also includes other photos and postcards of himself and his units, along with other similar postcards and photos of the era.  I have listed the entire scrapbook by each page so be sure to check out my other listings.

In this listing we have two very large, rare commercial photos of the May 30th, 1919 Memorial Day service at the Bourges American Cemetery, at least the soldier named it this (American Cemetery Bourges) on the top.  I can find no reference to this cemetery now so I can only assume that these burials were moved.  You see a large contingent of civilians on the right with a large military on the left, including a band.  It is possible that this was inside Camp Bourges as you see a large building in the background that looks like it might be from the military installation there.

In the second photo, we have another rare, large photo that is labeled as Bourges 2-4-1919, but the soldier has written on the top "General Pershing inspects us 1918".  You see one solitarity officer between the ranks on the left but I have no way of verifying if this was Pershing.  The soldiers on this side seems at ease, with several looking back at the camera, while the soldiers on the right seem to be at attention facing away from the left.

I have another sheet listed that shows another view of the crosses and what looks like General Pershing shaking hands with another soldier.  Same large size.

Very rare size, most of these photos of this type are much smaller.
