This computer includes a 1TB WD Black SSHD Hybrid Hard Drive with 8GB of built-in NAND flash cache. It is NOT a full SSD.
An SSHD combines a mechanical hard drive with internally managed flash cache. The 8GB NAND cache does not appear as a separate SSD or partition and cannot be used separately.
Because the main storage portion is mechanical, macOS and some diagnostic utilities may identify the drive as an HDD or rotational drive. This is normal and does not mean that the installed drive is a standard HDD.
The SSHD was new before installation and has only been used to install macOS and complete several hours of testing before shipment.
The built-in flash cache may improve access to frequently used data compared with a conventional HDD. However, a full SSD is faster for startup, application loading, system updates, and large file transfers.
Please purchase only if you understand that this computer includes a 1TB SSHD Hybrid Hard Drive, not a full SSD.
