Ballet Panorama

Up for auction is: "Ballet Panorama", by Serge Lido, with text by Irene Lidova and a preface by Jerome Robbins.  This hard-cover book has light blue cloth covers, with the cover and spine stamped in brown, and measures approximately 9.625 by 12 inches in size.  Inside are page after page of black and white photographs taken by Serge Lido of actual ballet dancers, ballerinas and ballets being performed.  Each of the 128 photographs are listed and described at the end of the book.  The book was published by The Macmillan Company, of New York, in 1961, and was printed in France.  I believe it to be a first edition.  The hard cover book comes with its original dust wrapper. 

The book is in great vintage condition, with no missing or torn pages, no writing on any of the pages, and hardly any soiling or wear.  However, there is wear and damage to the dust wrapper.  This includes tears and chipping along the top and bottom edges, chips to both of the spine edges, and a section cut and missing from the top edge of the inside front panel.  The dust jacket has a clear plastic protective sleeve, which can easily be removed if desired.
