SWISS made Sewing Machine Motor Drive Belt Strap
High Quality Motor Belt
Weldable
Includes:
 - 1 Belt ready for your machine (or 1 piece of 50cm belt to weld yourself)

Those belts are cut using a template we have for each machine.
The template was made using the machines and motors depicted.
Since the combinations of machines and motors are endless, if the belt you receive is longer than perfect, you can cut and weld as described bellow.
If the belt is shorter and wont fit even if you set the motor at it's highest point, then you can use the spare belt we include. This is a longer piece that you can cat to length, weld and use.

Strong, long lasting, Oil & water (humidity) resistant.
Extra friction.
Wont deform like rubber belts do.
Easy to weld, Easy to install.

Even if the belt is longer, you can cut to the correct length and weld it again.

How to weld:
1. Adjust the motor to the middle height setting. (Loosen the corresponding screw for that)
2. Cut the belt to dimension
Pass the belt through the motor pulley and balance wheel.
No slack needed, mark the belt at the meeting point and cut it at this point.
3. Heat both ends using a cigarette lighter until they melt and join them together until they cool down.
4. Trim the excess material using a Utility knife, box cutter, nail clipper, small wire cutter etc.
5. Pass through the belt and check for slack.
If you find some slack, adjust the motor height accordingly.
If the slack remains, you need to cut the belt again to the correct length and weld again.
You can do that as many times you want so far the length of the belt is enough for your machine.

When installed, you should be able to pinch the belt around 1/2" or 1cm.
Too much tension and you will add unwanted stress to the motor bearings, causing it to overheat, run slower and wear it out.
Too much slack and the belt would wobble or the motor pulley spin.
Micro adjustments are always done by adjusting the motor height.
