Rustic Framed Quilt Block in Purples, American Folk Art by Rob & Geneva Auberry of North Carolina

The frame measures 11.5" x 11.5" x 1" thick, neatly hand-crafted from old rough-sawn, smoothly weathered grayed barn boards.   The parallel saw marks are stilI evident but smoothed by time.  It holds a 10" square picture or work of art.  It weighs 11 oz. and has a hanger attached for easy wall display.  This piece was made without glass and is backed by cardboard inscribed:

Until their passing this talented couple lived in Hayesville - the western mountains of North Carolina.

The quilt block is a neatly hand-stitched, dresden plate / 8-pointed star or flower design with shades of purple predominating.

Both frame and quilt piece have been very well cared for with NO stains, smudges, holes, loose threads, bugs, odors, fading nor any kind of damage noted.
