Based on my research, it appears this book was released in September 1889 and is a first edition. However, the first page with copyright, publisher, etc. is missing. Also, pages 403-404 and 415-418 related to Franklin Pierce and James Buchanan have been removed. George Washington's portrait is loose, but all others are intact. Text unmarked. Covers show some edge wear with rubbing/scuffing. Chipping on spine ages. Front hinge is cracked but binding is still intact.
