The latest Mk4 version of the legendary fast and light mountain bike wheelset for XC, XC Race, gravel bikes and recreational use. 

Rims are the latest Mk 4 Stans Crest made from aluminium alloy. Wider and stronger and even slightly lighter than the Stans Crest Mk3 rim with a 25mm internal width. The spoke drilling is offset by 1.5mm which improves wheel strength.

Disc brake specific. Designed for MTB tyre widths between 2.00 and 2.30 and all wide Gravel tyres (for tyres between 2.25 and 2,5 also consider the slightly wider Stans Arch Mk3 rim - see our other listing). New discreet graphics.

These rims are designed to be used tubeless (with Stans sealant) but can also be use with Presta valve tubes.

Hubs are lightweight Novatec D791SB/D772SB or the slightly heavier but tougher Novatec D881SB/D882SB.

The standard HG freehub is suitable for 9,10 and 11 speed Shimano MTB cassettes, 8-12 speed Shimano Road cassettes (11 tooth small cog) and 9 or 10 speed SRAM MTB cassettes. 

For Shimano 12 speed MTB cassettes with a 10 tooth small cog, please specify a Microspline freehub

For SRAM 12 speed MTB cassettes with a 10 tooth small cog please specify a XD Driver freehub. 

These hubs have high quality sealed bearings. Disc brake attachment is by the international standard 6 bolt fixing with the option of a centrelock hubs if preferred .

The front hub has a choice of QR, 15mm or 20mm thru axle and the rear hub has a choice of QR or 12x142. For Boost hub version, see our other listing.

As standard, the 32 spokes per wheel are the high quality silver Sapim Race 2.0/1.8/2.0. Made from 100% stainless steel and fastened with solid brass nipples.

The wheels are built using a 3x (3 cross) pattern which is the best compromise between strength without excess weight.
