RARE UCONN-ST. JOHN'S Big East Ticket Stub 2003, February 22, 2003, Storrs, Connecticut, Gampel Pavilion. This was Jim Calhoun's First Game Back after Prostate Surgery, and a sellout crowd of 10,167 saw Calhoun come away with a 77-69 victory. UCONN's Ben Gordon, a future NBA player, led all scorers with 18 points.

Tony Robertson (14), future NBA player Emeka Okafor (13 points, 12 rebounds), and Denham Brown (10 points) all scored in double figures for UCONN.

The Huskies led 37-30 at the intermission and threatened to blow the game out up 51-33 with 14:41 remaining in the contest, but a late 10-0 run cut the deficit to 72-69 with 1:08 to play on a three-pointer by Hatten. A Robertson layup and an Okafor dunk with less than 40 seconds remaining sealed the deal for UCONN.

St. John's head coach Mike Jarvis was ejected with his second technical foul in the second half.
